The ultimate green lumber is a term you may be aware of only if you work in construction. Anyone who is concerned about the environment will love this product which is used a great deal to build decks and deck furniture. Eco-lumber and plastic lumber are two of the more common names for the ultimate green lumber, but there are a number of others, including polywood, permowood and enviro-wood. This radical material that has metamorphosed the patio furniture industry is both economically viable and environmentally friendly.
It is shaped like typical pieces of lumber, but instead of a tree it comes from recycled plastic, which once were jugs and other bins. Poly-lumber is a fantastic way to utilize the ever-growing amount of plastics that are being recycled. In the past ten years, recycling of plastic bottles has increased to 1.5 billion pounds, from only 234 million pounds.
